TREATS FOR THE TROOPS Sarah K's is hosting our second annual candy drive for the troops stationed overseas. We will be collecting left-over Halloween candy Monday, November 1 through Saturday, November 6. Children are encouraged to pen the soldiers a note and include a picture of him or herself dressed up for Halloween. In 2009, we held a similar event and it was tremendously successful. Over 150 pounds of candy was collected to send to the troops. NEW ADDITION Please help us welcome Jessica L. to our team Stop by the store to welcome her to Sarah K's! NOW HIRING We are accepting applications for the upcoming holiday season for a front counter / customer service position which includes light prep work. Please apply in person Tuesday through Saturday from 12 -5 with our manager, Tiffany. |
| SARAH K. LAUNCHES A NEW COOKING SHOW! Sarah K's Gourmet has teamed with 30am Media Inc (www.30atelevision.com) to reach out to our local community as well as combat childhood obesity. We will be filming a regular segment featuring local children - ages 4-14 who aspire to be chefs. Our family friendly segment will teach nutrition, cooking skills and math skills while showcasing a young chef in our community. With the current economic environment many families are cutting back not only on eating out, but also on children's activities. Cooking with children is a great way to spend quality time together and encourage children to expand their horizons, obtain confidence in the kitchen and achieve instant gratification with the finished result. If you know of a child between the ages of 4-12 who has a love of cooking and would like to be featured ion our TV and Website Show, please send a recent picture of the child along with the child's age and contact information and a family-friendly (and age appropriate) recipe to: Sarah K's Gourmet 34940 Hwy 98 Suite 183 Destin, FL 32541 The recipes must meet the following criteria: 1. 10 ingredients or less 2. Simple and fresh ingredients 3.
